About the Buxton Toy Fair
|
A great Toy Fair in a beautiful setting
The picturesque spa town of Buxton, in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District, is a delightful place to visit. The long-running Toy Fair is held in the Octagon Hall, a part of the Victorian Pavilion Gardens complex. The Buxton Toy Collectors Fair provides a perfect opportunity for collectors to enjoy a day trip into this very unspoilt part of the country.
The dealers who take stalls at the show travel from all over the country and bring with them a huge selection of new and old collectable toys, trains and models to sell - many at bargain prices.
Bob Jones travels all the way from Devon to exhibit at the fair. Bob deals in 00 gauge model railways and offers plenty of newly released models, as well as discontinued and second hand lines by Hornby, Lima, Mainline and Bachmann etc.
Collectors of diecast models can find plenty of variety at Buxton. D.M. Promotional Models, Nigel Garth, Richard Barratt, John Littlewood and Dalesman Diecast all offer a huge selection of Corgi, Vanguards, Tekno, EFE, Lledo, Minichamps and other diecast models.
Model Railway enthusiasts will find plenty to interest them, with new and second hand locos, rolling stock and accessories on the stalls of Paul Boyland of Penketh Model Rail Centre, Jim Horton and Mick Bond. Martin Wrigley (Modelfair) has a regular table selling Triang OO gauge trains from the 1960s and 1970s, ACE Trains and new Hornby 00 trains.
Chris Malbon of Metropolis Toys is a regular trader at Buxton, Chris specialises in TV related collectables from the 1960s to the 1980s such as James Bond and Dr. Who.
Irving Brim from Manchester has been a regular trader at the Buxton Toy Fair for well over 15 years now. Irving always brings some interesting old tinplate toys and O Gauge trains by Hornby, Marklin and Bing to each event.
Loughborough Model Centre attend most Buxton Toy Fairs throughout the year. Chris and Nicola bring with them a very wide range of new and second-hand 00 gauge model railways - many at very competitive prices.
There are always hundreds of different old and new toys and models for sale. Scalextric, Lego, tinplate toys, kits, games, Star Wars and other Sci-fi or TV related collectables to name but a few.
